What do parents see on SOIN over the summer?
Jul 1st, 2009 by Schools-On-I-Net

Schools-On-I-Net online school management allows administrators to work on class data while allowing parents and students to access community links during the summer.

There is a setting for admins to hide class information from parents/students and teachers while at the same time allowing them to continue accessing their Google Apps accounts, plus other important links like Forms, Photo Galleries, Newsletters and more.

Office staff and academic administrators will be able to login as usual and see their full accounts so they can work on class lists, student assignments, and teacher schedules.

SOIN Admins: go to School Setup > School Parameters and look for the parameters to Show Academic Information to Parent/Students (Y/N) and Show Academic Informatino to Teachers (Y/N).

Parents, students and teachers will have limited access as shown below.

Here is what parents/students and teachers will see.

Thank you!
Mar 13th, 2009 by Schools-On-I-Net

To our participants, “Thank You!” for taking the time to participate in yesterday’s in person presentation on Schools-On-I-Net at George Westinghouse Information Technology High School.

We appreciate your time and interest in Schools-On-I-Net. We hope the presentation and discussion was informative and that it demonstrated how Schools-On-I-Net can be used to increase collaboration and efficiency, and to promote parent and student involvement in the education process. We hope we were successful also in demonstrating ways in which schools can effectively make data driven decisions based on information and how it is presented on SOIN.

We send a special “Thank You” to Rabbi Schwartz, Director of Technology of Yeshivah of Flatbush for sharing with us some of his experiences using Schools-On-I-Net for managing academics and communications at the Yeshivah. We are happy to learn that the Communications and Student Administration features are the most popular and that he feels that Schools-On-I-Net now covers most everything that his school may want to do using a school management program!  Thank you Rabbi Schwartz for all of your feedback, comments and suggestions over the past few years to help us enhance our program and services.

We look forward to working with you in the near future.

To sign up for a similar presentation, please contact us or sign up for our email newsletter for more information and to find out about our next presentation.

Trouble free integration with existing systems
The Schools On I-Net system is based on industry standard operating specifications and standards. Our system integrates with existing systems as an add-on function and co-exists as a separate function. Schools On I-Net may also be used independently as it consists of many student management and course management tools. It is accessible with a standard browser.

Web accessibility
Schools On I-Net is web-based, accessible from virtually any computer with an internet connection. Schools On I-Net is optimized for use on Windows 98 or above with Internet 5.5 or above, but is also supported on Mac OS 8.x and above with IE for Mac. You are responsible for obtaining access to the site and that access may involve third party fees (such as Internet service provider or air time charges). You are responsible to pay any service fees associated with such access. In addition, you must provide, at your sole cost and expense, all equipment necessary to make such connection to the Internet, including a computer and modem or other access devices. Furthermore, you are responsible for obtaining any software programs, including such software upgrades as necessary to view and/or access the content of the Website.

Uniqueness
Jul 22nd, 2008 by Schools-On-I-Net

The educational process has six direct stakeholders. They are: Teachers, Administrators, Parents and Students (TAPS), and the Community and Suppliers.

Schools On I-Net takes information from the four main TAPS stakeholders in the educational process and creates a matrix of common information and communication. The result is that information entered once can be made available to all for viewing, evaluating, scheduling or collaborating. Efficiencies are increased and workloads decreased when information is shared. Best of all, student scores, school spirit, and parental involvement are all up, and support the efforts of the school system.

There are other platforms that almost do what Schools On I-Net does. Some programs even have similar features, but, no one does what the Schools On I-Net platform does. It took RK Solutions over four years and many thousands of man-hours to develop the algorithms that make the Schools On I-Net platform as beneficial and useful as it is.
